| My name is Nancy Crenshaw and I was born and raised in Michigan
and currently live in Waterford. I believe that the future of firearm
ownership and the shooting sports is through education. We need to
educate the general public, especially young people, the media, and our
legislators that firearms in the hands of responsible citizens are not a
threat, but have benefits for both individuals and society. We must
continue to teach future generations responsibility and safe firearm
handling. Although I don’t have children, I became a DNR Hunter Safety Instructor nearly 12 years ago to do my share to preserve our heritage by helping to educate young people and others new to hunting. Since then I have become an NRA certified instructor for Basic Pistol, Rifle and Shotgun, Personal Protection, and Refuse to be a Victim programs and I am a NRA certified Range Safety Officer. I volunteer for MCRGO and related organizations and affiliates. In recent years I have become more active in pistol shooting. I am a CPL holder and am very grateful for the efforts of MCRGO in enabling me to carry concealed, if and when I feel it is necessary for my own personal protection. MCRGO has worked hard and come a very long way since its inception. As an organization, we work “with” our legislators not “on” them, working from solid facts and not emotionalism or fear driven rhetoric. MCRGO has made Michigan a model for other states and we must strive to continue growing in a positive manner. I believe that preserving our Second Amendment Rights is our one main mission and that must remain the focused goal of the entire Board of Directors. MCRGO must maintain our gains, build on our successes and advance the interests of our members, affiliates, shooting sports enthusiasts and hunters in this state. MCRGO is a powerful presence in our state and it must remain united and effective in defending our US Constitution Second Amendment and Michigan Constitution and statute rights. I will fight to make that happen. I believe that my knowledge and energy will be a great asset to the organization. |
